On Friday 11th November, the most colourful and spectacular promoters on the scene make a very welcome return: yes friends, it’s time once more to delve into the technicolour dreamland of The Candy Vortex!
Their combination of eye-popping visuals and installations with rock and punk at their most unhinged, strange and playful has made for some of the most deliriously idiosyncratic and brilliant nights on Tyneside.
Arriving at the Gateshead Railway Club for their latest event, they’re bringing the sharp and ambitious jazz punk of Ravioli Me Away back to Newcastle. Touring in support of their new album Living Is A Myth, their slippery and surreal songs defy easy categorisation – a perfect fit for The Candy Vortex, clearly.
Joining them on the bill are Glasgow noise rockers Kasper Hauser (featuring members of Downs and Divorce) and Sunderland drone experimentalist Chlorine, with resident DJ BloodMouth also bringing a wide array of dazzling counter-cultural hits to keep the dancing going late into the night.
With one-off t-shirts, badges and prints from The Candy Vortex also available on the night, there’s also the chance to bring a piece of the Vortex home with you – if you’re feeling brave enough at least…
