Reliably informed

Formed by brothers Jim and Mike Blaha – and joined by good friend Dave Roper on drums – Minneapolis rockers The Blind Shake have been digging their way through the underground rock scene for years, producing six full-length albums and numerous collaborations with psych icon Michael Yonkers (and a separate one with John Reis. Not too shabby). Thanks to their combination of futuristic sounds and brutal, primitive guitars – as well as a shedload of reverb thrown in there for good measure – the band have gained a solid cult following, and are set to tear up The Cluny with their blistering live show.

Joining them on Tuesday 5th May are Newcastle’s own Mansions of Glory, purveyors of garage-punk and local cult heroes since 2004. The best thing? The show is free, so there’s no excuse not to see the blistering combo.

The Blind Shake and Mansions of Glory play at The Cluny, Newcastle on Tuesday 5th May.
