Lauren Kilcullen from Music Mayhem is the latest in a new wave of Teesside creatives expanding their portfolio, so Base Camp in Middlesbrough is the obvious choice for the young music blogger’s foray into promoting on Friday 28th February. It’s called Teesside in the Spotlight, and the aim is to highlight new musical talent in the area.

Be Quiet. Shout Loud! return to headline the venue for the first time since 2018’s triumphant EP launch, they’ll perform alongside fuzzy psych-lords Swears in support of their latest track Cabin Fever; alt. rock babes Motherland hope to build on an early local buzz; Northern folk pop trio Eddie & The Valkyries featuring Nath from Mouses make an appearance, as do hardcore punk upstarts Rare Breed, who hope to make an impression representing the next generation of young talent.

Young Lauren has certainly got a keen eye for new and locally established talent, and with the Base Camp venue looking to cast its creative net as far and wide as possible this year expect this to be only the start for Teesside in the Spotlight.
