Reliably informed

A brave and vital new play telling the story of what it’s like to seek asylum comes to Stockton’s ARC on Thursday 20th October. The story of Tanja is one that needs to be heard.

After being locked up and shipped around, she flees from being sold as sex in the dead of night. Looking for sanctuary, she heads to England, but is left just another soul seeking asylum at Yarl’s Wood Immigration Removal Centre; Britain’s best kept secret. Behind the barbed wire fence she sees refuge, but what will it cost to get there? Immigration is one of the key topics of the zeitgeist, and this tale tactfully looks at that, through one woman’s tale of courage in the face of prejudice and abuse.

Tanja is at ARC, Stockton on Thursday 20th October.
