Swing Manouche are a hard swinging gypsy jazz outfit, currently touring the North East, with guest star Daniel John Martin, and are coming to The Jazz Cafe, Newcastle on Tuesday 9th February. Violinist, vocalist and host of the famous Paris jazz club Aux Petits Joueurs Martin will be a great addition to a very fun evening.

Taking their name from the French for gypsy swing, Swing Manouche will look to transport a whole audience back to 1930s and ‘40s, when the jazz scene was a thriving, bustling, lively choice of nightlife for so many. With a massive resurgence for the manouche sound, ever more popular due to its sophisticated yet sentimental feel; and with Daniel John Martin one of the most charismatic and sought after performers of his generation, this is sure to be a must for all jazz fans. Expect gypsy jazz standards, classic tunes by the great Django Reinhardt and originals written by the musicians Mick Shoulder and Giles Strong (guitars), Paul Edis (clarinet) and Neil Harland (double bass).

Swing Manouche play The Jazz Cafe, Newcastle on Tuesday 9th February.
