Despite only forming early this year, Sun Dance are a band that have defiantly crafted their mark in the local North East music scene, drawing in the masses with their infectious melodies and captivating reverb.

The Newcastle trio, Adam Hope (vocals, guitar), brother Jack Hope (drums) and Tom Booth (bassist, harmonies) accredit their roots to a few fumbled home recordings, where the evident potential shines out of every slick guitar riff and echoed vocal. The Arctic Monkeys-esque vibe of the tracks, including I Want a Reaction and Sticks & Stones, have garnered thousands of plays on Soundcloud, catapulting them into the spotlight.

After support slots for Autobahn, The Subways, and an incredible packed out set at Evolution Emerging, Sun Dance are hoiking their alternative rock commotion to Mixtape in Middlesbrough next week alongside Hartlepudlian megatronic noise-makers Lost State of Dance. It’s guaranteed to be a night of catchy tunes and head-bopping and toe-tapping goodness.

Sun Dance come to Mixtape at The Keys in Middlesbrough on Tuesday 20th October.
