You might think that there can’t possibly any more room for new festivals or all-dayers in the jam-packed summer schedule; clearly however, you’d be wrong.

And when you’re presented with a treat of an event like this, it’s great to be proven wrong. The team behind the inaugural Summer Punch Ball have come up with what promises to be a winning formula: gather together some of the most popular new talent in the region in one place, and make the tickets nice and affordable to boot.

On Saturday 12th August, the Riverside will be taken over and turned into a special two-stage arena for the day. On the main stage, there’s a host of bright new rock acts to enjoy. Heading the event are North Yorkshire’s new grunge heroes Avalanche Party, who will also be joined by other favourites Coquin Migale, A Festival, A Parade, Dose, Penguin, Ronald Raygun and Tom Hepburn. In the Riverside garden meanwhile, there’s a special electronic and hip-hop showcase featuring sets from Xaatu, Sagaboi and NARC.’s May cover star Jister.

All this, plus street food, drinks deals, special cocktails, zines and much more, and for just £5 in advance makes it hard to resist The Summer Punch Ball. With other seasonal festivals rumoured to be in the pipeline too, make sure to get in on the action from the start.

The Summer Punch Ball is at Riverside, Newcastle on Saturday 12th August.
