Sunday night gigs at The Tyne Bar can quite often be the highlight of the weekend – certainly, recent shows from the likes of Blown Out, Twist Helix and Eat Fast have blown away any pre-Monday gloom in fine fashion.

So then, here’s another Sunday night outing for your calendar. Stubborn Sounds are hosting the first of what is hoped to be a regular series of events at The Tyne Bar on Sunday 21st May with a fun and lively line-up of local indie rock to get the serotonin pumping.

Heading up the bill is the loveable fuzz rock of Baker Island, a prolific and energetic quintet who’ll be no strangers to those of you following the local gig circuit. Right now though they’re in the middle of something of a purple patch, with a second full-length album set for release later in the year. As always, you can expect a committed and joyous show.

Supporting them are O Captain, My Captain, an introverted noise-pop duo who will be making a rare live outing on the night, and Ladies & Gentleman of the Canyon, who after a six-year hiatus will be making a welcome, harmonious return to performance opening the night.

It’s free entry, but with donations being accepted for North East Autism Society on the night, we highly recommend that you give generously.

Stubborn Sounds host this show at Tyne Bar, Newcastle on Sunday 21st May.
