Following last week’s announcement that 90s icons The Lightning Seeds will be headlining ARC’s stage at this year’s Stockton Calling, taking place on Saturday 31st March, the festival have released more information on other artists performing at the event.

Topping Ku Bar’s stage will be US alt. rock group We Are Scientists, whose 2016 album Helter Seltzer – the band’s fifth album proper – saw Keith Murray and Chris Cain veer towards the more serious side of their personalities. There’s still plenty of the fun-loving attitude fans have come to love though, with effervescent pop tunes like lead single Buckle leading the charge.

Jimmy Beck, co-organiser of Stockton Calling, is pretty chuffed to have them on Ku Bar’s line-up: “We Are Scientists are a massive name to add to the festival’s line-up and we can’t wait to see them headline Ku. They’re a band that’s a firm favourite in Stockton and another name that will, after announcing Lightning Seeds last week, see ticket sales fly out even more. It’s going to be great seeing them here on Teesside again.”

If that wasn’t enough, we’re thrilled to announce that the headline band to perform at the NARC. Green Room stage will be local lo-fi duo Mouses, whose perfect blend of garage riffs, poppy vocals and visceral drums had our very own Steve Spithray verily frothing at the mouth when he spoke to the band about their debut album last year: “[the album] has the primal urgency of Goo-era Sonic Youth matched with a terrific underlying darkness that’s like a teen horror movie trying to break out”. Expect an epic live show that’s just perfect to see the night out with a bang!

Alongside ARC, Ku and The Green Room, other venues also taking part in the festival include The Georgian Theatre, The Storytellers, Room 21, Musiclounge, Whole Latte Love and The Vault, with more pop-up stages to be confirmed.

Further festival line-ups are due to be announced in due course, so keep an eye on the official Stockton Calling website for more details and grab your tickets now!
