Not many people have Nightowls host and an award winning BBC sitcom on their CV. Throw in ex-wrestler and swing band crooner and you can see that Peddie is a bit of a character even when he’s away from the comedy stage. He brings his show, 99 Problems And The Chips Aren’t One, to North East stages twice in October (Monday 5th at Newcastle’s Stand and Friday 23rd at ARC in Stockton) and don’t worry, the show is better than the title.

Entirely created from the audience’s suggestions and improvised on the night, the show ranges from one liner gags and hilarious narratives to some serious relationship advice, if previous gigs are anything to go by. I caught him at Jesterval earlier in the year and he gave some excellent advice on how to deal with charvas on the Metro. He brings a very friendly stage presence to his shows, which relaxes the crowd and helps the lovely atmosphere that Peddie is proud of. You don’t get zany props but you do get funny answers to all types of questions and scenarios that the audience write out for him. Go see him, you’ll leave with a smile on your face.

Steffen Peddie’s 99 Problems And The Chips Aren’t One is at The Stand, Newcastle on Monday 5th and ARC, Stockton on Friday 23rd October.
