Want beer? And music? And the potential to dance until you can’t walk? Across three days this weekend, The Cumberland Arms are presenting their Spring Beer Festival, a jamboree of ales, lagers, ciders, food and some top tunes from some of the region’s finest bands.

On Friday 17th, the festivities kick off with five exceptionally talented groups taking to the stage. Headlining the event are post-punk garage band Yellow Creatures, who’ll be playing songs from their intelligent EP The Year Of Everything and Nothing, as well as some songs from their debut Nature of the Beast. PiPE RiOT are heading down to provide their blend of pipes and spoken word, while E’Spaniel are providing indie for fans of Spain, dogs and drum machines. Skull Puppies are also bringing their brash, ballsy, Frank Turner-esque thrash indie to the venue. And it’s all completely free (more to spend on trying out the 50 beers and ciders on offer…)

Saturday 18th is a chance to get acquainted with some more of the designer beverages while also indulging in some serious shape pulling. The People’s Playlist is back with a special Springtime Edition and are once again encouraging punters to dance until they can’t walk. As if we needed an excuse.

The final day on Sunday 19th sees music playing throughout the day with the garage bar open to the public, while the Semibreve Supper Club are presenting two hours of their Classical Revolution from 5-7pm. No doubt it’ll be a relaxing end to a weekend full of enthusiastically appreciating beer, grub and some very fine music. Last orders will be a sombre moment this weekend.

The Cumberland Arms’ Spring Beer Festival takes place between Friday 17th and Sunday 19th April.
