Teesside’s coolest cottage industry and DIY music collective, Spooker Rekkids, has gone from strength to strength since they based their operations in the deserted attic space above Westgarth Social Club in Middlesbrough.  In the last few months they’ve promoted gigs, recorded live sessions and printed up t-shirts in the comfort of their own home. Now, as a sort of house-warming, they’re throwing open their doors and inviting you to a series of seriously intimate performances.

Causing quite a stir at the moment with some piercingly pure vocals and stripped down arrangements, the deliciously melancholic seven-piece band Tom Joshua is ably supported by Spooker Rekkids’ own Dressed Like Wolves and Loose Tooth on Saturday 12th March; while on Thursday 24th March they bring you heartbreak and inspiration via the emotional neoclassical soundscapes of the superb Richard J Birkin. Enigmatic support comes in the shape of Old Muggins and Liam Sanders.

Expect candles, cushions and curiosity in this unique and compact new venue, but don’t sleep on this as tickets are strictly limited to just 25 per show, so it would be wise to buy as soon as possible.

Spooker Rekkids gigs take place at Westgarth Social Club, Middlesbrough.
