As part of their European project CORNERS, an intercultural artists’ platform designed and driven by a number of institutions at the edges of the continent, ISIS Arts are bringing the co-founder of SourceFabric, Douglas Arellanes, to the NewBridge Project.

SourceFabric is a non-profit organisation, based in Prague, that works across the globe to develop tech for independent media organisations. Alongside CORNERS artists, ISIS Arts and media artist and curator Dominic Smith, the organisation are developing an interactive and collaborative platform called CORNERS Live. The online environment is designed to extend the lives of artists’ work and allow cultural enthusiasts to participate and contribute to the programme.

As part of the talk, Douglas will be discussing the progress of the project as well as some of the other projects that SourceFabric have worked on in their five years of existence. He’ll also be introducing the audience to some of the software platforms that they’ve created as a group. It’s guaranteed to be an interesting chat, especially for those interested in developing the careers of artists and helping them to flourish on an online platform.

The talk with SourceFabric takes place at the NewBridge Project, Newcastle on Friday 27th March.
