Sunderland sextet Social Room have only been going little over a year, yet they are already gearing up for the launch of their new single Let Me See You Work It, with a show at Independent on Saturday 28th November.

The band have refined their sound wonderfully in that short space of time, honing sumptuously catchy vocal melodies and dance inducing beats, while also retaining an authentic rock and roll swagger. There are certainly still Britpop influences on show, but the band is really starting to put their own original stamp all over their sound. Sunderland’s Independent is the ideal venue for the celebration of a new single, with the band’s initials the same as the postcode they reside in and Independent itself.

The new single has something more anthemic about it, and is sure fire to get people dancing; it’s one of those songs that gets you walking with an extra-confident strut as it pops through your headphones.

Support on the night comes from bluesy rock and roll two piece Black Atom Movement and indie pop rockers Hazels. With a stacked solid line-up like that, this is the perfect way to celebrate the launch of a new single, and another milestone notched for this up-and-coming band.
