Few could argue that one of the North East’s bands whose rise just seems to continually escalate, and are certainly destined for even bigger things are Smoove and Turrell. Their modern soul sound has proved a hit with so many, eliciting many a person onto their feet to dance, and they’ll be doing just that at The Customs House in South Shields on Friday 19th February.

Now three albums strong, their sound has always carried a heavy Northern Soul influence, and with funk filled music flowing under some captivating crooning, their sound is often just what the venues of the North need. This is the first time the six-piece will ever play The Customs house, and off the back of a UK and European tour, and headline spots across various festivals last year, this gig is putting a firm stamp on 2016 being an even better year for them to continue in their rich vein of form.
