Once described as the ‘English take on the White Stripes’, folk duo Slow Club are still as prevalent and powerful as ever. A delightful combination of Charles Watson and Rebecca Taylor, the two piece gingham-donning, multi-instrumentalists have completed some mighty accomplishments in a decade, including stints at Glastonbury, supporting Florence & The Machine, and touring every corner of the planet.

Transcending into more experimental genres of music, compared to their peppy tunes that garnered them success in the early days, has seemed an easy progression for duo; they’ve dabbled with soul, pop and indie in previous releases and cemented themselves as one of the more intriguing yet elusive acts to have withstood the testament of time. Prepare to indulge in Sheffield’s finest boy/girl harmonies as they play a one-off acoustic show on Thursday 5th May at Stockton’s Green Room, where their Northern charm, rustic guitar and stunning musical abilities will have you humbly entranced.

Slow Club play The Green Room, Stockton on Thursday 5th May.
