In April, Newcastle rapper Rex Regis released the Sinister Six posse cut. A loose single featuring Leddie MC, 90BRO, Kay Greyson, Reali-T and Max Gavins has now inspired a series of live shows starting on Friday 20th July at Newcastle’s O2 Academy.

Max Gavins is the only artist from the Sinister Six single to be booked for the Sinister Six gig, but I’d bet six quid that 90BRO joins him to perform some tracks from their highly anticipated RuMa² collaboration.

You can probably also expect E-Mence to be flanked by his partners-in-rhyme, Claymore and Listaa. The Sunderland trio are one of the more energetic acts in North East hip-hop and grime, and each have played a part in building Wearside as a hip-hop haven lately.

Relative newcomer Bad Mannerz is not the most well-known MC within the local scene but a strong social media following signals a potential to steal the show.

No stranger to a stage, Zico MC has performed regularly in clubs around the region and appeared at festivals around the world too. Newcastle-based independent hip-hop label Ill Prepared boasts a packed roster of elite MCs, from Legion of Goon duo Stig of the Dump and King Hippo to Gilly Man Giro and more elusive members we’ve not heard from in a while like Handsy and Indigo Children, even a fraction of the faction will be fantastic.

Ill Prepared affiliate and arguably the greatest rapper to represent the region, Rick Fury, is also on the Sinister Six bill. It’s been a year since Rick released Lego Scarface so we might even get a little hint of new music on the way. Fingers crossed.
