While baby birds across the country have flown the nest and headed south for the winter, Sick Joy have decided to do the complete opposite. Those Brighton-based Geordies have decided to bring their matured sound back to their roots with this tour’s hometown show at Think Tank? on Thursday 7th November.

Latest EP Them Days has already been lauded within the grunge scene thanks to their grittier update on the iconic sound. New(ish) track Vibe Sucker is a bass-driven, moody and potentially Pepsi-sponsored letter to every party pooper out there – let’s hope none of those show up at this gig!

Main support goes to exceptionally new-to the-scene garage band Runt, who may only be barely six months old yet have already made a mark with their brooding, dramatic punk sound. They’ll be backed up with the well-established musings of Scott Michael Cavagan, whose raucous rock anthems are enough to settle any crowd in for the night.

Sick Joy have been doing incredible things during their time down South, but let’s not let them forget that the North is where you can really find the party!
