Newcastle alt-pop five-piece are gearing up to release their debut album How Can We Fix This? the summer. The album, produced by Grammy Award winner Adrian Bushby (the man behind records by Muse and Foo Fighters), promises to be a logical step on from their Kaleidoscope EP, featuring a wave of glittering synths, icy cool riffs and epic pop hooks.

Between now and the release of the album, the band are going to be giving away a number of free downloads, the first of which is Enemy. The exclusive track, which won’t be featuring on the album, is filled with everything you’d expect from Shields’ best work: a wonderfully infectious hook, a brilliantly sunny synth line and a lovely knack for clever songwriting. The band say that they couldn’t let the track go unheard as it’s one of their favourites, and it’s easy to hear why.

You can download Enemy now from Shields’ Soundcloud page. Their debut album How Can We Fix This? will be out this summer.
