Durham’s Empty Shop HQ presented four carefully curated shows as part of their gig arm, Seagull And Circle. The final one of these sees the incredible, alt indie talents of Shields arrive to play the delightfully intimate venue on Friday 15th April.

Shields ended 2015 and began 2016 as one of the hottest bands around, their gift for writing captivating music pushing them forward at an astonishing rate. They’ve shown no signs of letting up either, with debut album How Can We Fix This? a perfect showcase for their unique songwriting which draws on a massive variety of influences; and pop sensibilities form a big part of a very powerful sound. With an experimental, effervescent energy in all they do, catching the band as the ride the crest of a very big wave is a very fine to spend a Friday in Durham. They’re joined by the quirky indie of Yellow Creatures, as the Seagull And Circle shows at Empty Shop HQ come to a close in style.
