On 23rd July Shenanigans Comedy returns to The Cumberland Arms to bring the biggest names and funniest people on the comedy circuit to the Ouseburn Valley, Newcastle. This month’s line-up includes Seymour Mace, one of the most innovative and exciting acts around the moment. Probably best known for playing Steve on the BBC Three comedy Ideal, Mace worked as a clown in the mid nineties before becoming a stand-up comedian.He was a finalist at the So You Think You’re Funny competition at the Edinburgh Festival in 2001 and has performed several shows at the Fringe.

Opening the night is Nicola Mantalios, a regular at The Stand Comedy Club, both as herself and her dog loving comedy character, Zoe. Nicola was a finalist in So You Think You’re Funny’s new act competition and is one of the North-East’s most naturally gifted performers.. Support comes from Leicester Square New Comedian of The Year 2016, Joby Mageean and American comedian Julie Grady Thomas.

Hosting the evening is Sammy Dobson, a former Byker Grove actor who brings the laughs with tales of her cartoonish life and bizarre relationships. Tickets will be £4 on the door, with discounts available for pre-booking or concessions.
