Halloween may be over, but there’s no rest for the dead just yet; a collective of spooks and spirits are set to take over Newcastle Castle this month to help launch a collection of locally-inspired ghost stories. It’s a celebration of horror, in an evening of discussion, spine-chilling readings and more for the launch of Shadows At The Door, all taking place on Saturday 19th November.
Filled with storytellers, historians, educators, entertainers and fools, The Moss Troopers will present a series of eerie stories of all things that go bump in the night, including a reading of Quem Infra Nos; anthology editor Mark Nixon’s sinister tale of what lies below Durham Cathedral. There’s seven of the anthology’s authors set to be in attendance from all corners of the world. Mark Nixon, of Durham, Caitlin Marceau, Kris Holt, JC Michael, Mark Cassell, Christopher Long, and Pete Alex Harris will discuss the development of the book, alongside illustrator Barney Bodoano. So wrap-up warm, as chills are a given on this night of the macabre.
