Reliably informed

We love a good all-dayer; offering all the fun of a festival minus a poor night’s sleep, there’s nothing better than rocking up early and thoroughly taking your fill of what’s on offer, secure in the knowledge you’ll not have to suffer twats banging bongos outside your tent at four in the morning.

Saltburn Calling, taking place at Saltburn House Hotel on Saturday 25th July, makes us extra happy, because they’re giving some of their ticket sales to local charity – the Redcar Area Foodbank, to be precise. On hand to entertain throughout the day are some of the very best bands from Teesside and North Yorkshire, including the debut show from trip-hop Goth popsters Baba Yaga; psych rock from The Magick Godmothers; the crazy genre-bending antics of Werbeniuk; female-fronted alt. rock from the superbly monikered Pussywillowfurryvenus; hypnotic garage blues goodness from The Approved; lo-fi noiseniks Mouses; garage rockers Avalanche Party and, bringing the house down at the end of the night, York’s 50’s inspired garage punk trio, The Franceens.
