Sad Sack are an art collective made up of four illustration students from The Northern School Of Art in Middlesbrough currently taking part in a Sad For Life Records college module. The event on Thursday 9th May at Hey Base Camp is a collaborative effort between the label and students, with the label providing the music and the students responsible for curating the art on display, as well as all promo materials. For Sad For Life and Hey Base Camp Sad Sack is a continuation of their endeavours to bring together all the disparate elements of the region’s creative scenes.

Music comes from Sad For Life’s first signing, Tall Talker, who make their Teesside debut. The instrumental three-piece from Leeds fuse elements of math, prog, hardcore and jazz; while Motherland will provide the alt. rock summer hits and Finn Forster (formerly Swilly Chill/Heart Balloon On The Roof) will open things up on the night with his new indie pop project fresh from a month of live shows which included a Stockton Calling slot and supporting Dylan Cartlidge at a sold out Westgarth Social Club.

As if all that wasn’t enough, entry to this event will be free!
