Do you ever wish that you could get some quality – or even just quirky – fish in the winter months? Are you longing for a bit of shrimp on the barbie or a feast of lobster? Riley’s Fish Shack are. After two brilliant years of trading in 2013 and 2014, the specialist fish shack is designing a new semi-portable Fish & Grill Bar using shipping containers, so that they can trade more frequently and be less dependent on the weather (always a bonus in the unpredictable north).

The unit will have a wood fired pizza oven, enabling the chefs to cook up their delicious flatbreads on the move, alongside all their regular dishes (and some less fishy options for the kids). There will also be an extended Charcoal BBQ to help cope with demand during lobster season as well as old favourites such as mackerel, monkfish, wild salmon and chilli squid. They’re also planning to open for breakfast after the expansion, offering dishes such as Gravadlax in salmon season and Kedgeree for those who are a bit more adventurous.

To do this though, they need your help! Riley’s are looking to raise £20,000 to fund the project and have set up a Crowdfunding page to help accumulate the funds. So far they’ve raised nearly £5,500 towards the target and are looking to raise the cash by Wednesday 4th March.

People who donate to Riley’s will get some goodies in return, from a free wrap at any Riley’s location at any time to free Fish Shack meals for life (if you’re feeling flush and have a spare £2,000 to spare!) Everyone who pledges money will also get a 10% discount card and access to a special Fish Shack Party free of charge.

The Crowdfunding project ends on Wednesday 4th March 2015.
