Most music lovers will now be at a point in their lockdown lives where they are perched in the bay window in their living room looking wistfully out the window as droplets of rain run down the glass. It’s this longing that singer-songwriter and musical storyteller, Ren Lawton is responding to with his upcoming release, Live From The Barrel House (out 8th May), a series of recordings taken from an intimate performance from the South West’s premier live music venue whilst on tour with Albert Jones in 2019.

The EP captures Ren’s raw, heartfelt performance of songs old and new, alongside the atmosphere of a gig night, including the gentle murmur of the crowd, the occasional clinking of glasses and a few candid moments of audience interaction, which if you sit back and close your eyes will transport you to the good old days when gigs were allowed.

For even more gig simulation goodness you can join Ren Lawton on Friday 8th May 2020 at 7pm for a special Facebook live listening party, including guests from the Albert Jones tour, Paddy, Rory, and Brian from O’Ceallaigh’s song and many more. So pop on your best leather jacket, take your cans of Redstripe from the fridge and turn it up loud, for an experience that will keep you holding on that little while longer.
