Channel 4’s Random Acts is set to showcase two emerging, young and talented artists, as their unique and daring short films broadcast on Channel 4 next month as part of the channel’s Random Acts strand for bold and challenging new work.

The two films were made by filmmaker and neuroscience student Bella Spencer from Heaton and illustrator Theo Scott from Alnwick.

Bella’s short film Staccato uses computer animation to reimagine the devastating effects of an epileptic seizure on the brain and emotions, while in Doughbutt Theo Scott uses deliberately kitsch hand-drawn animation to take aim at a society where absolutely anything is up for sale.

The two films are broadcast on Thursday 14th December as part of episode 6 of Channel 4’s current series of Random Acts, which runs every Thursday night at midnight and is presented by actor and artist Zawe Ashton.
