Why did the band stop playing? How did that old guitar find itself deserted in a dusty corner? What became of the drum kit, left behind and forgotten in the garage?
Putting The Band Back Together may not be able to answer all the questions, but Unfolding Theatre director Annie Rigby’s stage adaptation of work by writer Chloe Daykin will find its way into the heart of every wannabee musician who dared to dream but never quite made it.
Featuring Ross Millard (The Futureheads) Maria Crocker (The Letter Room) and Alex Elliott (Northern Stage) it’s a unique live production that sets the scene of both riotous gig alongside spoken word scrapbook and individual tales of what could have been. Each performance features a house band and audience participation is highly encouraged!
Putting The Band Back Together offers a revealing take on the love and emotion behind people’s relationship with music. Performances take place at Arts Centre Washington on Thursday 22nd and Northern Stage, Newcastle from Wednesday 28th until Friday 30th September. Go see.
