Reliably informed

You’d be forgiven for feeling lost in the political maelstrom of the moment, in which warring factions pull us back and forth, at times feeling akin to the medieval torture method used to tear dissenters limb from limb.

Fittingly (and rather tenuously…), Pulled Apart By Horses are set to return to the Stockton’s Georgian Theatre Wednesday 9th October as part of a string of intimate shows across the UK. The aptly named Is This Thing On? mini-tour will see the Leeds alt. punk quartet road-test their latest tunes, ahead of recording them for their much-anticipated fifth LP later this year. Yet, with this return to their earlier DIY roots comes an assurance to air their formative material (“golden oldies”, as they put it), in a varied set sure to slake the thirst of both hardcore fans and more recent followers alike. Fingers crossed, this entails the performance of frenetic early singles like I Punched A Lion In The Throat, and the anthemic High Five, Swan Dive, Nose Dive, from their first LP. Having veritably destroyed their summer festival slots, the band’s return heralds the cementation of their punk reputation and stature as one of the best live bands in the UK.
