Musicians making money off music? Pfffft, yeah right! But according to the Musicians Union and PRS For Music that’s possible as they invite you to their ‘How To Release Your Music and Get Paid’ event at The Georgian Theatre, Stockton on Thursday 4th July.

The record label became irrelevant for a lot of artists a long time ago and they are now taking a much more DIY approach to releasing their music. This event hopes to give you all the fundamentals of how the music industry works and how record labels and publishers make their money, so that musicians can earn a little cash of their own.

The evening will cover a wide range of topics including how to copyright your work, looking at the difference between Master Rights and Publishing Rights, claiming unpaid royalties and a load of other very important information to start you off on the road to success. Once the talks are finished the night will conclude with networking drinks and rumour has it the first round is on PRS For Music and the Musicians Union.

The event starts at 7pm and attendance is free, but numbers are limited so book a space if you are thinking of going along by visiting the Musician’s Unions website
