Middlesbrough’s gallery of the people, Pineapple Black invites you to join them in previewing three, yes that’s right THREE, new exhibitions in one evening on Friday 1st November.

First up is Mountain Size: Contemporary British Painting, an exhibition sourced from the Contemporary British Painting collection (an artist-led organisation which explores and promotes current trends in British painting) and curated by board member and artist, Gordon Dalton. It explores the history, legacy and traditions of the landscape painting and is part of Conversations in Painting: Fiesta MK2, a multi-venue celebration of painting that connects artists from Tees Valley with a broader UK and international network,

In the alternate show space is The Changed Rooms, which showcases work from the winners of the inaugural Pineapple Black Fresh Award.  Artists Gavin Vaughan, who fuses themes of science and fashion, as well as architecture inspired Ellie Thompson, create an exhibition that promises to be diverse, unique and a true celebration of the regions blossoming art scene.

Completing the trilogy is the public unveiling of the latest ’24/7 Window Space’. The window display, which has seen the gallery receive national news coverage from previous exhibitions, will feature work from installation artist Alan Hathaway who will be transforming it into an exciting, interactive piece.

The exhibition previews take place between 5 – 8pm, followed by an afterparty (8-10pm), complete with live music, to keep the fun going.
