Durham’s own Pale Kids make a welcome return to Empty Shop HQ on Friday 3rd November to play what promises to be another well-received hometown gig. The queer pop punkers offer confessional, personal tales wrapped in irresistibly catchy riffs; and they continue in their mission to not-so-quietly take the region’s punk scene by the scruff of the neck and shake it rigorously.

The headliners will perform alongside Nottingham’s impossibly cool post-punkers Slumb Party, whose relentless, driving riffs clash wonderfully alongside febrile percussion to create a sound as satisfying as it is exciting. They’re also joined by Mancunian garage rockers Proto Idiot, who display a delightfully lo-fi charm not dissimilar to that of the Vaselines at their original late 80s peak, but with a more abrasive and rocky sound, replete with punchy, ultra-nonchalant vocals and gloriously fun clattering drums.

Completing the line-up are Newcastle’s Slurs, who bring hooks and infectious vocals aplenty, complementing a bill of greatly varied guitar pop bands. See you down the front!
