This March shows the return of the highly successful Ouseburn Open Studios for the annual Spring Salon Sale. The Mushroom Works will be open on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th March from 12pm to 5pm, and will provide a unique opportunity to meet and talk to local artists, designers and crafts people in their own studios about their work, commissions, techniques and upcoming exhibitions. You can peruse paintings, furniture, jewellery, ceramics, textiles and drawings which will also be available to buy.

On Sunday 29th March from 10am to 5pm, the Open Studios also sees the Biscuit Tin, the Biscuit Factory, 36 Lime Street open to the public as well. This is a great opportunity to tour the local arts studios and galleries for a flavour of the various crafts each venue produces as well as participate in interactive workshops.

The Biscuit Factory will showcase a Louise Underwood textile workshop where you can produce a textile piece as part of international Artists for Peace event later in the year.

The Biscuit Tin Studios is a workspace for artists, printmakers, modern media designers, filmmakers and photographers. This is the prefect place to pick up smaller works of contemporary art at an affordable price. The studios also have a great family-friendly mixed media creative workshop which involves participating towards a giant spring flower frieze.

Lastly, 36 Lime Street gives you the chance to make your own engravings for just £4 (over 18s and you need to book a slot on the day). There will also be hand printed artists’ books for sale.

The Ouseburn Open Studios Spring Salon Sale takes place on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th March.
