Aiming to raise money for an incredible cause, Newcastle’s North East Art Collective is set to hold a postcard auction running between Monday 26th March and Thursday 19th April. With an amazing list of contributors having created 6” x 6” original artworks, work from Newcastle Footballers Gavin Peacock, David Kelly and Rob Lee, musicians Franz Ferdinand, comedian and impressionist Alfie Joey and a lot more there’s a real chance for a lot of money to be raised for The Newcastle West End Foodbank.

The food bank is the largest in the UK, and featured in the film I, Daniel Blake. Heartbreakingly, food banks are becoming a more and more important part of life for many people, and the special artworks produced will be doing some real good in raising money. The food bank currently helps feed over 40,000 people per year. You can bid on these pieces with 100% of the proceeds going to the charity.

The pieces can be viewed in person and the project shows the real unity in Newcastle for looking after some of our most vulnerable. The Mini Masterpiece II display will be available to view until Thursday 19th April when bidding will close at 9pm.

All the artwork is also available to view on the North East Art Collective’s website here, with silent bidding starting on Monday 26th March and ending on Sunday 22nd April at 11pm.

North East Art Collective is an amazing place and something of a subtle gem of an art gallery and can be found on the upper level of Eldon Garden (just off Eldon Square) above Percy Street.

The North East Art Collective’s Auction for The Newcastle West End Foodbank runs Monday 26th March and ends on Sunday 22nd April at 11pm.
