Reliably informed

Continuing Northern Stage’s dedication to cutting-edge theatre, Night Visit’s “séance of stories, sound and images” is concerned with things that go bump in the night.

The ground-breaking production, presented by storyteller Sally Pomme Clayton, tells of true life tales inspired by her formative years and her family’s experiences with spiritualism. Part spooky history lesson, part biographical tale, Clayton traces the history and science of spiritualism, weaving myth, legends and dream-like spoken-word segues with music from Panos Ghikas, who provides dark and vibrant sounds, and out-of-this world live images from filmmaker Fotios Begklis.

An accompanying app is also available to download; supporting the live performance, the fusion of film, sounds and narrative offers an insight into the multimedia performance, where nothing is quite what it seems.

A visual and aural phenomenon, Night Visit promises a thoroughly engrossing experience.

Night Visit is at Northern Stage, Newcastle on Thursday 17th September.
