Reliably informed

It’s not very often that one comes across a band about which there’s virtually no information on that there Interweb, but NGOD are just that band. I managed to find two minutes of music in the form of King Of The World, which proves they know a thing or two about making a quick ‘n’ dirty pop rock ditty. They’ve previously been called mathy, but this is certainly the poppy end of that genre. Pathy. Pothy. Mathopathy?

What we do have on them is that they hail from the Satanic mills of Bradford, a town often a footnote in the British rock scene, despite being grim enough to inspire a thousand Goths to study there. The place has a rum history in music – New Model Army and The Cure share a town with Gareth Gates, Zayn Malik and Kimberley Walsh. What a super group that would be. Support at the Ku Bar gig on Friday 10th July comes from Middlesbrough’s Figmennt, fresh from Evolution Emerging, whose post-rock ditty She is well worth checking out.

NGOD and Figmennt play Ku Bar, Stockton on Friday 10th July.
