A make or break campaign has been launched for one of Newcastle’s most beloved festivals, as Newcastle Community Green Festival looks to secure both its 2017 event and its future after nearly two decades of being a vital part of North East summer.
Organisers have cut back on the usual 2-day event in early June and are proposing to run a single day event to bring back the festival in 2017. Costs have increased year on year, and with grant funding taking a dip, they’ve turned to a fundraising campaign in the hopes of generating £8000 by Wednesday 15th February.
Donors can claim a number of perks including limited editions, t-shirts, hoodies, and access to lots of fun classes and workshops. The Green Festival is an important part of Newcastle’s summers for people of all ages, and it’s an achievable goal, that with the right support, could maintain The Green Fest’s legacy. The Indiegogo page is here, and live now, so see what you can do to help, as summer isn’t summer without The Green Festival, and another twenty years would be special.
