The days may be getting colder, and the nights getting darker earlier, but you don’t need any more reason to get yourself within the confines of The Stand Comedy Club this month than the fantastic shows they’re offering up as part of Newcastle Alternative Comedy Festival. From Sunday 16th October until Sunday 30th October, more than 100 acts will perform across 32 shows for a rather spectacular fortnight featuring some of the best names in comedy.
With a range of shows, there’s comedy circuit favourites like Gary Delaney, Jason Cook, Zoe Lyons and Fred MacAulay, rising stars like Sofie Hagen and local legends Seymour Mace, Gavin Webster and a whole lot more. There’s even improv comedy from The Suggestibles and new panel show Punchlines fronted by local favourite Matt Reed. Throw in Kids Comedy Club with Lee Kyle and Fruit Salad with Nicola Mantalios-Lovett and Joby Mageean, there really is something for everyone, with comedy from the punchy and political to the downright daft and silly, make sure you take in a show or two to make your October a memorable one.
