The Stand is likely to be chock full of Edinburgh preview shows over the coming weeks but this one’s a real doozy, as two local comics, Neil Harris and Julie Grady Thomas, are set to perform their Edinburgh Fringe preview shows on Sunday 28th July.

Neil Harris, a computer programmer turned stand-up comedian, describes himself as ‘that weird bloke with the joke about Subway’. Tynemouth-based Harris’ success has included reaching the final of Great Yorkshire Fringe New Comedian in 2016, finishing runner-up of Hilarity Bites’ New Comedian Act in 2017 and recent appearances on BBC Radio Newcastle’s Jesting About. Having supported the legendary Tom Stade on tour this year, his elaborate and quick witted style is certain to please.

Also performing is Julie Grady Thomas, an American comedian, writer and self-confessed ‘Geordie by assimilation’. Having won her share of accolades, including being Mr Shindig’s New Act Competition runner-up in 2017, Grady Thomas’ irreverent and thought-provoking style promises to deliver a first-class performance in her Bad Pancake show.

Neil and Julie aren’t strangers to sharing the stage together either, as the duo previewed their 2018 Fringe Festival show at Newcastle Castle and The Stand last summer and, while their comedic subject matter may differ, their cleverly hilarious shows are equally worth your time.
