There are few things that delight a cheapskate more than a bargain (trust me, I know), and for this reason we look forward with glee to the biannual NE1 Newcastle Restaurant Week, when we can eat fancy food at nice restaurants and not spend more than a tenner. Result!

The event gets bigger every year; hungry punters can enjoy a two course meal for £10, or three courses for £15 at over 90 restaurants across the city from Monday 8th until Sunday 14th August. Some menus even come with drinks included, making Restaurant Week a real winner for the bargain conscious diner.

Old favourites including Barluga, The Broad Chare, Dabbawal and The Stand’s Bistro will be included in the deal, and there’s plenty of newbies to try out too, including trendy burger chain Byron Burger, Brazilian barbeque joint Cabana, Mediterranean fare from Fuego, Modern British from Lady Grey’s, Latin American cuisine from Las Iguanas, seafood from Riley’s Fish Shack, yet more BBQ at Canteen And Cocktails, Caribbean delights from Turtle Bay and many more.

With a huge variety of cuisines included you can eat your way around the world without ever leaving the city!

NE1 Newcastle Restaurant Week takes place from Monday 8th until Sunday 14th August.
