Reliably informed

Natacha Atlas is the perfect example of an artist who has mastered the art of collaboration. Having cut her teeth as part of the world fusion group Transglobal Underground, she has since ventured into all four corners of the music world. From composing music for ballet, film scores, jazz and classical orchestras, and working with world renowned choreographers and pop artists (the list is endless), the Brussels-born Anglo-Egyptian musician really keeps her audience on their toes.

A multicultural beacon, Natacha’s style reflects the increasing connectedness between music cultures around the world. She bridges the gap between the traditional and the contemporary, fusing genres by mixing hip-hop, drum and bass and reggae with her Arabic roots in a multilingual extravaganza. Showcasing an array of world instruments, her compositions are a brave musical exploration of East meets West, where most songwriters rarely dare to tread.

Following a series of ambitious releases over the last decade, including the critically acclaimed Myriad Road album, Natacha now wows audiences on her live tour, which drops into ARC, Stockton on Friday 9th February.
