A symposium and curated film programme comes to Tyneside Cinema from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th December, with the aim to expand on ideas raised in Oreet Ashery’s new exhibition in The Gallery, Revisiting Genesis.
Exploring issues around gender in film, art and video games, as well as tackling the narrative behind this, Tyneside Cinema have really put together a special programme to compliment this fascinating work. Award winning author Michele Aaron has curated the film programme and will also take part in the symposium with Oreet Ashery and Dr Ladan Cockshut, Senior Lecturer in Computer Games at Teesside University. The films on show are The Death Of Mr. Lazarescu on the Friday, Saturday screens Dark Victory with Sunday welcoming Ikiru. The symposium is sandwiched in there on the Saturday too.
With ticket bundles available for the full weekend too, this is well worth a look.
