Critically-acclaimed, inspirational musician Nadine Shah has been given the opportunity for a unique residency in her home town of Newcastle Upon Tyne, as Generator and Brighter Sound bring the artist to share her wealth of experience with up-and-coming female musicians.

She is joined by much lauded producer Ben Hillier, who is known for his work with Elbow, Blur, Doves and more. The residency with Nadine takes place from Monday 20th-Friday 24th August, with Ben joining for the last two days. The newly established Blank Studios is hosting alongside the much-loved community venue Star & Shadow Cinema.

It’s a fantastic opportunity for four emerging female artists from the North East, and successful applicants will be guided to develop their songwriting skills, musicianship, vocal technique and production awareness as well as learning to work in an incredible, independent recording studio.

Requirements for applying are that you are over 18, an emerging female musician, based in the North East of England and have a strong vocal component to your work. Applications close at midnight on Sunday 5th August and more details and the application process can be found here.
