Reliably informed

There’s obviously not been many positives coming out of The Covid-19 pandemic, but one thing that has been quite inspiring is the innovation and resolve of the North-East cultural scene. Instead of accepting defeat and holding off from doing events, exhibitions and performances, the creatives of this region have utilised technology and adapted what they already do to be distributed via the internet.

One of these cultural activists looking to keep us entertained is music promoter, Famous Last Words aka Adam Gallagher who has just announced MUNRO Virtual Festival, taking place on Saturday 28th March. The premise is of the event is simple, just log on to Facebook and enjoy a full afternoon/early evening of stripped-back sets from acts up and down the country. The format is that each act will live stream from their Facebook page and then at the end of the set will encourage all viewers to head over to the next page. If browsing the web isn’t your thing, then streams will be shared across the MUNRO page & event invite.

Adam Gallagher tells us more, “MUNRO virtual festival was planned around making sure that people can still see acts in a format which is possible for anyone and everyone to access, it also allows people to just escape from what is going on in the real world in terms of watching live music.”
