Muncie Girls are capping off what’s been an exciting year for the young punk rock band with a date at Newcastle’s Think Tank? on Sunday 27th November.
The Exeter three-piece have just released their debut LP, From Caplan To Belsize, a wonderful record that captures the spirit of Sleater Kinney with its modern day take on everything from interpersonal relationships to gender politics. New single Respect is particularly appropriate in the light of Donald Trump’s deplorable sexist attitudes towards women, with its take-down of lad and rape culture; while the hooktastic Gone With The Wind is as memorable as the book that spawned its title.
Lande Hekt on bass and vocals is an immensely promising songwriter, taking her influence from classic American literature and pulling no punches in her delivery. Recently nominated for Best British Newcomer at the Kerrang! Awards and receiving plenty of plaudits and critical acclaim from right across the music spectrum, the band will be supported by Plymouth’s energetic Woahnow’s and London’s Happy Accidents on a bill that’ll have you reaching for the ceiling all night long.
