The world-roving Monster Ceilidh Band are set to release a new CD next year, and a selection of brand new tunes from this will be on show as the electrofolk act become a fully functioning sound system on Saturday 19th December at The Retreat.

In a perfect little festive party, they bring along Pons Aelius, a Newcastle based six piece featuring pipes, flutes, guitar, banjo and percussion. With some of the brightest new talents on the folk scene, this band could be set for a very big 2016 as the next big names in progressive folk.

There’ll also be afro-beat and funk courtesy of DJ Jelly.

It’s Monster Ceilidh Band who’ll be the stars of the show though, showcasing songs from next year’s CD Mutation, which has an extended line-up which was seen last summer at NARC’s Boiler Shop Steamer event. This is sure to be another fantastic evening of top quality folk infused fun.

Monster Ceilidh Sound System & Pons Aelius + DJ Jelly play The Retreat, Shieldfield on Saturday 19th December.
