With Future of the Left on hold and his solo project Christian Fitness yet to make its way onstage, this summer sees Andrew ‘Falco’ Falkous reboot mclusky* for their first full tour in 15 years. Although hardly a headline grabbing, once-in-a-lifetime reunion (the group have been playing one-off shows intermittently since 2014, including a blazing appearance at The Cluny in the run-up to Christmas 2017), the new jaunt marks the first time the Welsh trio have assembled a clear, coordinated run of dates; providing a golden opportunity for fans to revisit one of British post-hardcore’s most brazen and influential outfits.

This counts double for anybody who missed the show a couple of years back, with Falco and company poised to return to The Cluny on Saturday 3rd August. Together with Damien Sayell of the St. Pierre Snake Invasion filling bass duties, they’re also bringing a superb support act in Glasgow’s Slime City. Formed from the ashes of cult favourites We Are The Physics, the trio – all of whom go by the name of Michael – are proud peddlers of “fast existentialist nerd rock – for people who like sighing but also fighting.” With the brutalist art rock of locals Tankengine (featuring members of yourcodenameis:milo and Little Moscow) opening proceedings, you’d be best advised to come down early!
