This summer sees a mammoth new two day event take place at Times Square, Newcastle and excitement for it is set to build even further, as the headliner for day two has been announced, and local favourites Maximo Park are the perfect choice for the outdoor live music spectacular. They’re set to play Sunday 31st July alongside a wonderful selection of other bands.

With the day one line-up already announced and to feature Ocean Colour Scene (read more about it here), there’s been a high standard set that day two will most definitely live up to. The indie pop filled goodness of Maximo Park will be joined by 90s guitar band Lush, the electronic art rock of Public Service Broadcasting, the alt indie of Teleman, there’s dreamy pop from Brighton’s Fear Of Men and it’s all rounded out by Warm Digits; the acclaimed electronic collective further representing the local music scene on an utterly brilliant bill.

Maximo Park have just celebrated their tenth year together, and with a back catalogue of gorgeous songs filled with delightful guitars and frontman Paul Smith’s captivating stage presence, summer just got a whole brighter in Newcastle.
