The comedy shows at The Bottle Shop Bar and Kitchen in Newcastle have been pulling in audiences with the promise of some stellar shows. This month is no different, as Wednesday 6th July sees Matt Forde and Rob Auton preview the shows they’ll be taking up to this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August.

Matt Forde is one of the most in-demand stand-ups around at present, with TV appearances aplenty of late, on shows like Have I Got News For You, Rory Bremner’s Coalition Report, Mock the Week, 8 out of 10 Cats,Question Time, This Week and Russell Howard’s Good News.

His shows have been noted for being as intelligent as they are funny, and he should be a welcome addition to the sharp shows that have been showcased so far.

He’s joined by York born writer, comedian and poet Rob Auton, who has been performing at poetry nights, comedy clubs and theatres across the country since 2008. He has written three five star rated Edinburgh fringe shows; 2012’s The Yellow Show, 2013’s The Sky Show, and 2014’s The Face Show. A true original writer and performer, his quiet subtlety is utterly captivating, and both shows should leave a lasting impression.

Matt Forde and Rob Auton play The Bottle Shop, Newcastle on Wednesday 6th July.
