One of the region’s hardest working musicians is set for a return to a beloved Stockton venue as Martin Stephenson plays The Georgian Theatre on Saturday 16th September. Influenced by a range of musical styles, this inventive songwriter is set to show why his thirty-plus years of gigging and thousands of concerts make him such a force to be reckoned with.

The founder member of The Daintees had his debut single released way back in 1982, and had both critical and commercial success with albums released over the following decade. A cut from the mainstream music business didn’t hinder the passionate musician at all, and albums self-produced at this home in the Highlands of Scotland have been the norm in recent years. It’s back to where it all started too, with The Daintees celebrating thirty years since the release of their debut album Boat To Bolivia, and the alternative country sounds evident on that album still make up the core of a very folksy sound for Stephenson.

The Durham native seems always happy to be playing back in the North East, and with three decades of majestic musicianship to choose from, The Georgian Theatre is in for a real treat.
